Grouse Ridge 08/20/06
Well the place this weekend was 39 23.300' N 120 36.594' W. You should be able to copy and paste that into maps.google.com or google earth to get an idea of the area.
It was simply fantastic. I just can't think of any other words. There are lots of trails up there and I plan on exploring those more in the next few weeks.

I used to backpack in this area a LOT. I'll never forget waking up on July 3, camped at Sanford Lake, with my sleeping bag covered in snow! If you can bear the hike, Beyers Lakes are wonderful, too.
I haven't been up there for years, because I live in L.A., now, and I'm taking my daughter there for the first time this weekend! SO exciting!
