Stoneyford 05/28/06

Another great few days of camping. It is time for me to get a wide angle lens so I can share more of the beauty.

My camp spot was at 39 14.908' N 122 37.609' W There was a kids fishing thing on Saturday where they had released 700 trout in a section of the river and netted it off. Ernie, who was camping next to me with his mom and dad , caught his 5 trout limit in under a hour. Thanks again Ernie for sharing the fish at dinner. It sure was tasty.

The original trail that I had planned on driving was really nothing more than a gravel road with some nice views. It was rated a 2 in this book I have with a side trip rated as a 7. Well you know I had to take the side trip. The first couple of pics are just the first hill I went up. I wish I would have had a co-pilot to take some action pictures.

The beauty of the area is fantastic and I wish I had that wide angle lens so I could share more of it. I took a lot of pictures but most of them didn't seem to give the place enough credit so I only posted a few.

Well on to the pictures.

PS Sorry about the trash in the fire pics. I had to clean out someone mess and didn't bring extra garbage bags for other people's trash. I notice that a lot of the motorcycle and ATV riders are day use people and use the fire pits as trash cans. That is great but they don't take it with them and the campers or rangers have to clean it out to use them. When the ranger came by I asked him if he had a bag or box so I could clean it up. He did and I cleaned it up. I just wish people would remember to only leave their footprints behind.

Thanks again for stopping by.
