Red Mountain 03/25/07

We went to South Cow Mountain OHV area this weekend and stayed in the Red Mountain campground.

On Friday night a jeep rolled near the rock quarry. We heard about it later on. There was also a bunch of kids there drinking and ripping down trees. I went over there when the sparks were flying about 30-40 feet in the air. When I heard them still ripping down branches I called the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. It would have been better if they told me that they weren’t going to respond. After a couple of hours I had called back and the dispatcher told me that the deputies couldn’t cross the creek in their patrol car and that the Sgt would call me. When the Sgt called he kept saying he had never heard of the place and was I sure it was in Lake County. I told him that the BLM map had it in Lake County. What I didn’t say was what the dispatcher told me. If they didn’t know where the place was how did they know they had to cross the creek?

On Saturday a group of Boy Scouts from troop 12 showed up. Well one of them decided to poop on the bathroom floor. I went up to the leader and let him know what had happened as their group and mine were the only ones using that bathroom. He then started going on about how they wouldn’t do something like that and he can’t believe that someone would do that.

Other than those things it was a great weekend. Lots of good food and times. The second video shows where I almost got a new hood decoration. The last shows some views of Clearlake.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

St. Patrick's Day 03/18/07

Well this was a special weekend. It was at Manchester State Park. We had went up there a few months ago and while I was out hiking I saw a big piece of driftwood with the number 8 and a heart carved into it.

For those that don't know me well my parents nicknames for one another was 7 and 8. It is the the number of letters in their names. My mom being 8 and my dad 7.

When I happened across this log a few months ago I thought this would be the perfect place to spread my mom's ashes.

Well this was the weekend to spread her ashes. It was a special day as besides being St. Patrick's Day it was our sister's birthday who has already passed on.

My 2 sisters and aunt came up and we did the deed as my mother didn't want a service. We then had a nice Irish wake. Lots of good food and drink. We even sang around the campfire.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.
