Brannan Island SP week 2 and Xmas 12/25/06

Well this was another star studded weekend of adventure. My boss gave me a gift card to REI and now I have to try to find the time to get over there.

I knew that my sister's kids and grandkids would be out of school for the week so I invited them to come camping.

Imagine my surprise when she brought up 5 pre-teen girls. Don't let anyone kid you that girls don't eat. 4 1/4 pounds of bacon, 1 pound of sauage, 1 gallon of milk, 10 PB&J sandwiches, 10 Grilled cheese sandwiches, 16 eggs, 3 pounds of chicken, 1 pound of hot dogs, olives, apple chips, and 13 oranges. Probably some other things that I can't remember at the moment.

It was a nice weekend. I got a chain-saw for a present. I bought myself a telescope. Now to try to find the room in my truck to put it.

Well this weekend was my Aunt's annual Xmas Party so I had to find a place to camp close by. We went to Brannan Island SP N38 6.84' W121 40.66'. It is just a few miles south of the 160-12 junction outside of Rio Vista.

They had touted their wi-fi service as one of their attractions. I could never get it to work.

I also decided to shoot in RAW format this weekend and then found out that Nikon will want more dollars from me to use it past 30 days. That sucks big time.

The weekend went wonderful but we have to work on the 4am requests. The party at my Aunt's house was a smashing sucess like it is every year.
